The Lord our Righteousness is He

Who died upon the cursed tree.

His perfect life and His life’s blood

Give us acceptance with our God.

His sin-atoning blood has made

Atonement for His chosen seed.

Christ, by His death, has paid the debt

Incurred by sin for God’s elect.

As God in mercy did impute

Our sins to Christ our Substitute,

So now the God of truth and grace

Imputes to us Christ’s righteousness.

By blood forgiven of all sin,

God’s justice now declares us clean

And by imputed righteousness,

In Christ, worthy of His embrace!
