1. The sinner who truly believes,

And trusts the Son of God,

Full pardon from the Lord receives —

Redemption through His blood.

2. The faith that lays hold on the Lamb,

And brings salvation home,

Confesses sin, and guilt, and shame,

And looks to Christ alone.

3. It says to the mountains, “Depart,”

Between God and my soul.

It binds my broken, heavy heart,

And makes this sinner whole

4. Faith bids my many sins confessed,

Forever to be gone;

And reckons true what God attests, —

I’m righteous in His Son!

5. And now I know (Oh, precious faith!)

That I am forgiven,

That I have passed to life from death,

Predestined to heaven!
