My soul, stand still, adore and praise

The Christ of Calvary,

Whose blood has purged His people’s sins

And put our guilt away!

When all our sins (enormous load!)

And guilt His own were made,

The justice and the wrath of God

Were poured upon His head!

When Christ, the Mighty God, then died,

In this poor sinner’s stead,

I was redeemed and justified,

With all for whom He bled!
