-When God the Holy Ghost reveals
The message of His Word,
And to the wakened conscience seals
Christ's sin-atoning blood -
The wonders of redeeming grace
On every page unfold,
And there the Savior's lovely face
Believing eyes behold!
The sacred Word, by heav'nly light,
Descending from above,
Reproves and yet gives us delight
With promises of love.
Our many sorrows are redressed
And all our needs supplied,
When to our hearts the Word is blessed
And graciously applied.
God, bless the Word preached here today
Bring it to us with power;
Help us to hear what You will say
