Believing souls, rejoice, give thanks!

Your Savior lives above!

He intercedes and rules to save

The people of His love!

With groans and tears, in fear, He prayed,

In His humility.

Today He pleads, our Priest and King,

His earned authority.

His sin-atoning sacrifice

Gives merit to His claim: -

“Father, I will that all I bought

Be with me where I am.”

For sinners who believe on Him,

Salvation Christ demands,

Points to their names upon His breast,

And spreads His wounded hands!

Rejoice! Rejoice! His prayer prevails!

The Father smiles on Him: -

And, looking on us in His Son,

He smiles on us in Him!
