1.    Assist Your servant, Lord,

The gospel to proclaim;

O Holy Spirit, by Your Word,

Our hearts with grace enflame!

2.    Oh, melt these hearts of stone,

With Jesus’ precious blood,

The blood which for our sins atoned,

The blood of Christ our God.

3.    Take unbelief away,

Bid clouds of doubt depart,

Show us Your great goodness, we pray; —

Revive each languid heart!

4.    Make rebel sinners bow

Before Your throne of grace;
