YES, WE DO BELIEVE THAT!

Sometimes people deliberately misrepresent what we believe and preach, in order to make it appear terribly evil. And sometimes, when we plainly state what we believe, some people seem shocked that we are not ashamed to publicly acknowledge our faith. Some who read this bulletin may be shocked to see these things in print; but we, here at Grace Church, most gladly affirm that we believe and preach those most blessed truths of the gospel so commonly despised by men, usually known as Calvinism. That which is plainly stated in the Word of God, we believe and preach.

1. The Lord our God is absolutely, totally, and universally sovereign - (Ps. 115:3; 135:6; Isa. 46:9-10; Dan. 4:35-37; Rom. 9:11-23).

2. God, in his eternal and immutable decree, has sovereignly predestinated all that ever comes to pass in time - (Eph. 1:5,11; Rom. 8:28-30; 11:36).

3. All men, since the fall of Adam, are totally depraved: born with a decided bias of the heart toward evil, guilty of sin, condemned under the law, and spiritually dead in sin - (Rom. 3:10-23; 5:12-20; Eph. 2:1-3; Ps. 51:5).

4. God from all eternity chose and determined to save all who are saved in electing love - (Eph. 1:3-6; John 15:16; II Thess. 2:13).

5. The Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died as the Substitute of his own elect, effectually accomplishing their eternal redemption and only the elect were the objects of his everlasting love, saving grace, and redemptive work - (John 10:11, 14-16; Gal. 3:13, Heb. 9:12; II Cor. 5:21).

6. God the Holy Spirit regenerates and calls God's elect, and only God's elect, to life and faith in Christ by sovereign, irresistible grace - (Ps. 110:3; 65:4; John 6:63; Rom. 9:16).

7. All of God's elect persevere in faith and holiness, because they are preserved in grace and kept by the power of God unto eternal glory - (John 10:28-29; Eph. 1:14; 4:30; I Pet. 1:5).
