"THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH!"

A man once asked me, "Do you believe `Once saved always saved'?" I said, "That depends on who does the saving. If salvation is in any way attributed to man, No, I do not. But if salvation is the work of God, I must, because it is written, `Whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever' (Eccles. 3:14)."

Without question, if a sinner is saved by the grace of God he is saved forever. Everlasting life is everlasting! This is the promise of the Lord Jesus Christ with regard to all his sheep - "THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH!" They shall never perish because...

SIN SHALL NEVER BE CHARGED TO GOD'S ELECT (Rom. 4:8). The believer's sins were charged to Christ. He paid for all the sins of all his people when he died, past, present, and future!

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST SHALL NEVER LOSE ITS POWER. The basis of forgiveness and acceptance with God is the blood of Christ (Eph. 1:6).

THE GRACE OF GOD CAN NEVER BE FRUSTRATED. Believers are kept by the power of God's grace unto eternal salvation (I Pet. 1:5). If even one should perish, the grace of God would be frustrated.

THE SEAL OF THE SPIRIT CANNOT BE BROKEN (Eph. 1:14). If God the Holy Spirit puts you in Christ, you are sealed by him in the grace of God unto the resurrection, and you shall "NEVER PERISH!" Nothing a believer does will cause God to change his mind about saving him, or cause him to take away his grace. If you are a believer, you shall "NEVER PERISH!"
