THE WORD OF GOD IS SUFFICIENT

We recognize the inspiration and authority of Holy Scripture, and declare that the Bible alone is our rule of faith and practice. By that declaration we assert that all we believe, preach, and practice as a church is plainly taught and required by the Word of God. We will accept no doctrine, but the doctrine of Christ. We will accept no ordinance, or religious practice, but the ordinance of Christ. God helping us, we intend to add nothing to the Word of God and take nothing from it. Our rule of faith and practice is, "Thus saith the Lord."

As the Bible alone is sufficient for our faith and practice as a church, it is equally sufficient as a rule of life for every believer. We will not allow any human opinions or customs about religious behavior to bind our consciences. Nor will we endeavor to bind the consciences of other believers, with extra-biblical rules of conduct, lest we should be found guilty of adding to the Word of God - (Rev. 22:18-19).
