THE PASTOR - A BENEVOLENT LEADER

Without question,--it is a  pastor's responsibility to be the spiritual overseer of a congregation. He is to rule the church of God, just as a husband rules his house, in love as God's representative. Does this mean that he is a tyrant, or dictator, lording over God's heritage? Certainly not. The pastor is to be a benevolent leader, guiding the people of God by the Word of truth in love, kindness, and graciousness. It is the pastor's responsibility to seek the will of God for the congregation under his care, and lead them by the direction of the Spirit.
