SUBMITTING TO GOD' S
It is easy enough to quote Romans 8:28. It is easy enough to preach the
doctrine of God's sovereignty, wisdom, and goodness in providence. We all
profess to believe these things. But how do we react to financial loss, sickness,
domestic troubles, and bereavement? Is our reaction one of worry, fear, and
anxiety; or is it submission, faith, and gratitude?
Though
we are believers, we feel sorrow, loss, and pain like all other people. But
unlike others, we know that our Father's will is being accomplished. Whatever
comes to pass, whether it be prosperous or adverse, is designed by God for our
good and his glory. Therefore we dare not murmur and complain. We will trust
him and give thanks, for it is the will of God in Christ for us. We would not
change God's providence, even if we could. Divine wisdom knows what is best.
Let us not question God's wisdom, goodness, or power. Rather, let us submit to
his will in all things. "It is the Lord, let him do what he will."
