Religious Pictures, Images and Symbols

There is absolutely no place in the house of God for religious pictures, images, and symbols. The burning of candles, crosses, crucifixes, statues of saints and angels, pictures which are supposed to represent Christ, symbols of the Holy Spirit, etc. are relics of Romanism. All these things are idolatrous in their origins and in their usage. Where God is known and worshipped, the worshippers do not need pictures, statutes, and symbols to remind them of him. Where the doctrine of the cross is known, loved, and faithfully preached, people do not need or want pretty pieces of idolatry (crosses) hanging around their necks, pinned to their garments, or as pieces of furniture in the house of God. God is Spirit. All who worship him, worship him in spirit and in truth.
