NO MERIT

We are all sinners. As such we have no merit in ourselves by which to claim anything from God. All that God can and will give to sinful men he freely and graciously bestows upon us through the merits of Another. Eternal salvation, the daily blessings of providence, and reward in heaven all come to us through the merits of our Substitute, Jesus Christ, and only through him.
