LOOK AND LIVE

The Lord Jesus calls for helpless sinners to look to him, to believe on him, and live forever. "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else" (Isa. 45:22).

Yes, salvation really is that simple and that free. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Lord Jesus Christ was lifted up upon the cross. There he suffered and died as the sinner's Substitute, "That Whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:14-15).

TO LOOK TO CHRIST IS TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR NEED OF HIM AS YOUR SAVIOR. Will you do that? Will you acknowledge the fact that you are a lost sinner, deserving of God's everlasting wrath, and that you are utterly incapable of changing your condition? The first step toward salvation, if I may use that language, is to acknowledge that you need a Savior.

TO LOOK TO CHRIST IS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HE ALONE IS GOD OUR SAVIOR. There is no God but him and no Savior but him. He who is both God and man in One glorious Person is the only One who could produce righteousness sufficient for us and make atonement for our sins.

TO LOOK TO CHRIST IS TO TRUST HIM. It is to trust his righteousness, his death, his intercession, his grace, and his power alone for salvation. Will you look to Christ? If you can, if you do, God has given you life and faith in him. YOU ARE SAVED BY GOD'S AMAZING GRACE!
