I AM COMMITTED TO THIS MESSAGE

Today we begin a new year. If in God's good providence we are allowed to labor together in the ministry of the gospel, you will hear a clearer and stronger emphasis upon the message of God's matchless grace to sinners in Christ than ever before. I am aware that the natural man is offended by the gospel of God's grace. I am aware that the message of grace is in direct opposition to the religious world around us. And I am aware that many who profess to believe the gospel of the grace of God get tired of hearing it after a while. But I am not deterred. These very facts inspire my commitment to this message of God's sovereign, effectual, irresistible grace in Christ. I have been preaching it for sixteen years; and I am more thoroughly persuaded today than ever that God's servants must faithfully press the issues of the gospel upon men's hearts with boldness. The sinfulness of man, the sovereignty of God, and the satisfaction of Christ are the things most vehemently opposed by men in our day. It is therefore incumbent upon faithful servants to loyally proclaim these truths for the glory of God in the face of his enemies. God helping us, we will continue to re-enforce those basic pillars of the faith which are being eroded in the minds of men by modern religion: Ruin By The Fall, Redemption By The Blood, and Regeneration By The Holy Spirit.
