I know that God rules all things in absolute
sovereignty. All things were predestined by God; and all things come to pass in
this world by the providence of God. Nothing ever has, or ever shall, come to
pass but that which is in strict accordance with God's eternal purpose of
grace. And I know that God so graciously and wisely rules all things that in
all things he is doing that which is best for the eternal, spiritual welfare of
all his elect and the glory of his own great name. Now, believing God, my heart
