WILL THERE BE

DEGREES OF REWARD IN HEAVEN?

This is a question that I have been asked many times. The teaching of the Bible is clear. There will be degrees of punishment in hell because there are degrees of wickedness (Matt. 11:20-24). But there are no degrees of holiness. There are no degrees of righteousness. And there are no degrees of reward in heaven! HEAVEN IS THE CONSUMMATION OF SALVATION. AS SUCH, IT IS THE GIFT OF GRACE. Consider these questions: If there are degrees of reward, or loss of reward in heaven…

· How can all believers possess all spiritual blessings in Christ (Eph. 1:3)?

· How can God's elect be joint-heirs with Christ (Rom. 8:17)?

· How can all sorrow be removed from us forever (Rev. 21:4)?

· What has any mere man ever done that is worthy of reward from God, that can oblige God to be his debtor?

THE SON OF GOD DECLARES PLAINLY THAT ALL IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN ARE EQUAL AND ARE REWARDED EQUALLY (Matt. 20:12). Every believer has been made worthy of heaven's glory by the grace of God in Jesus Christ (Col. 1:12), being washed in his blood and robed in his righteousness. All heaven's glory shall be ours by the purpose of God, the purchase of his blood, and the power of his grace.
