Will There Ever Be A Restoration Of
Judaism?
Heb. 10:9
"He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second." That is to
say,God has,by the obedience of his Son, taken away
the old covenant and the old order of ceremonial worship and established the
new covenant and the new order of spiritual worship. But will he ever take away
the new to revert to the old? Will there ever be a restoration of Judaism? I
know that the Jews have gathered as a nation and that they are endeavoring to
restore their temple, their priesthood and their religious order. But will the
Lord God ever again accept the Jews as a nation and return to the carnal
ordinances of ceremonial religion? The answer is - No! Here are two reasons why
the answer must be "No."
1. THE NATION OF GOD'S ELECT IS A
SPIRITUAL NATION, NOT A POLITICAL ONE.You who are born
of God are God's "holy nation" (I Pet. 2:9-10). This nation is the church of God,made up of all believers in every age.The Israel of the Old Testament was only a type of this, the
true Israel, the Israel of God. All of this Israel (the church of God's elect) shall be
saved (Rom. 11:26).
But to say that all natural Israel shall be saved is to affirm, contrary to
everything revealed in Scripture, that every person
born of Jewish descent will ultimately be saved, whether or not he trusts
Christ!
2. CHRIST, BY HIS OBEDIENCE UNTO DEATH,
HAS FULFILLED ALL THE TYPES AND SHADOWS OF THE LAW. His obedience to the moral
law put an end to the rule and dominion of it (Rom. 10:4). And his obedience to the
ceremonial law put an end to it (Heb.10:1-22).His blood put an end to animal
sacrifices forever. His priesthood put an end to the earthly priesthood
forever. His entrance into the holy place made without hands put an end to
temple worship forever. His exaltation to the throne of God as the Son of David
put an end to David's earthly throne forever. His blood, his priesthood, his
entrance into heaven, his exaltation to the throne of God is the effectual
accomplishment of our salvation and God's eternal purpose. If ever God should
again receive the sacrifices of Jewish ceremonial worship, from human hands,
upon a material altar, in a Jewish temple, it would mean that the Christ we
worship is an impostor, the blood he shed was useless, the gospel we believe is
a lie! The whole New Testament is a fabrication, and we are yet in our sins!
