"WE ARE BOUND TO THANK GOD ALWAYS..."

II Thessalonians 1:3

This week our nation will celebrate a day of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Day is no longer a day of solemn gratitude to God for his bountiful provisions, as it was when celebrated by our Pilgrim Fathers. We rejoice that this day is set aside to remind us of God's great blessings upon us. But as believers, you and I have great reason to be thankful to our Father, not only on this day, but always. "We are bound", by God's love for us and our love for him, "to thank God always."

1. We Give Thanks To Our Father For His Electing Love - In infinite mercy and eternal love the God of heaven chose us and made us his people.

2. Give Thanks Unto God For The Forgiveness of Sin - Through the blood of the cross, God has blotted out our sins like a thick cloud. Being washed in the blood of Christ, we are cleansed from all sin.

3. Thanks Be Unto God For His Unspeakable Gift - Not only has God given us salvation by Christ, he has given us Christ himself! The blood of Christ, the righteousness of Christ, the life of Christ, the glory of Christ, all are ours! '"We are bound to thank God always!"
