Our God Is Able To Do Exceeding Aboundantly  Above  All That We Ask Or Think.

 Ephesians 3:20

Our heavenly Father knows what we need before we ask. And he has already provided all that we need, from eternity, in Christ. Therefore we may with confidence go to him in prayer, asking him to supply that which we need, knowing that he is both able and willing to supply our needs (Heb. 4:16). God's promised provision certainly includes temporal, material needs. If he feeds the sparrow, his children will not go hungry. If he clothes the flower of the field, his family will not go naked. If he gives the fox shelter, his own household will not be unsheltered. If we belong to God, we may be assured that he will both protect us and provide for our every need physically. These things should be no matter of concern to us (Matt. 6:19-34). God will not supply our greed. But he always supplies our need. Having the promise of all material need, our hearts should only be concerned with spiritual matters and our need of grace to live in this world for the glory of Christ. And this he is able and willing to supply above our highest desire. Let us therefore seek the grace we need. These are matters of greatest concern to me, and objects of my most earnest prayers to my God.

l. Give me faith to constantly trust Christ and rest in him.

2. Give me wisdom to know and do your will.

3. Give me love for my brethren, so that I may be patient, longsuffering, kind, generous, thoughtful and helpful to them in all things.

4. Give me a heart of submission to my Lord, so that I may be content with your providence, pleased with your pleasure, and ever rejoice before you.

5. Give me a heart of commitment to Christ, so that I may consecrate myself entirely to my Lord, his gospel, his people and his glory. These things our God is able to do for you and me, exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. Oh, may he be pleased to do them, for the glory of his name!
