luk 02v30 Thy Salvation

"THY SALVATION"

Luke  2:30

Simeon was in the house of God "waiting for the consolation of Israel", when he saw the Lord Jesus Christ, who was brought into the temple as a baby to be circumcised, as he began to fulfill the law of God for our salvation. "Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: for mine eyes have seen thy salvation." May God give you grace today to see what Simeon saw and do what Simeon did.

BEHOLD THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS GOD'S SALVATION. Christ himself is salvation. We rejoice and give thanks for our Lord's saving work: his glorious incarnation,             his life of righteousness, his effectual atonement, his mighty resurrection, his triumphant ascension, and his gracious intercession. Without these things we could never be saved. But it is our Lord's glorious Person that makes all his work effectual. Had he not been man, he could not have died as our Substitute. Were he not God, his dying could never have availed for our redemption. It is who Christ is that gives virtue and merit to what he does. Jesus Christ is God's salvation. Christ alone is salvation. And Christ is the whole of salvation (John 14:6; I Cor. 1:30-31; I John 5:13).

TAKE CHRIST UP IN THE ARMS OF FAITH. This is the way for you to be saved. You must take Christ in your arms as your salvation (John 1:12-13). The spiritual meaning of Simeon's action is this - "This Christ is mine. I take him to be my salvation. Once he embraced Christ for himself, his soul was satisfied. His waiting had ended. His desire was fulfilled: He had Christ in his arms! He was prepared to die, to depart in peace. Have you taken Christ up in the arms of faith?  If so BLESS GOD FOR HIS UNSPEAKABLE GIFT (II Cor. 9:15). Once this old man saw Christ as God's salvation and took him up in his arms, he "blessed God".         There are several ways to bless God. Believe him. Give praise to him. Entertain great thoughts of him. And proclaim his praise to others,
