"Seek Ye The Lord"

Isaiah 55:6

How long will you mock God by your unbelief? How long will you obstinately despise the claims of Christ upon you? How long will you persist in your rebellion? I urge you to make it your soul's urgent business to seek Christ and be saved. If you refuse, you will perish forever in hell under the wrath of God!

If you would be saved, you must seek the Lord with all your heart. "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart" (Jer. 29:13). There is more to salvation than walking an aisle, saying a prayer, and joining the church. Salvation is a heart work! It comes to those who seek Christ with all their hearts.

You must seek Christ where he may be found. God meets sinners at the mercy-seat, Christ Jesus (Ex. 25:22); and you will find Christ, the mercy-seat, in the house of God, the church of the living God, where Christ is preached. Christ is found wherever his people are found worshipping him in spirit and truth (Matt. 18:20). Search the Scriptures too, for they testify of Christ (John 5:39). If you would find Christ seek him in his Word.

You must seek the Lord while he may be found. "Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near." If you refuse to do so, there will come a time when he will withdraw himself from you, shut the door of mercy in your face, and will not be found. If you would be saved you must be saved "while he is near," while "Jesus of Nazareth passeth by," when the Lord God crosses your path. If you despise the day of grace, you flirt with eternal destruction. (Read Proverbs 1:23-33.) "He that, being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall be suddenly destroyed, and that without remedy" (Prov. 29:1). "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (II Cor. 6:2). "Today, if ye will hear his voice, harden not your heart" (Heb. 3:15). Salvation is promised to all who seek him.
