The Reason For Separation

Exodus 34:12-16

When God commanded Moses to make no covenant with the inhabitants of Canaan, he told him plainly that any covenant made between a believer and an unbeliever would be a snare to the believer. You cannot put yourself in a yoke with an unbeliever without compromise. You cannot remain in the yoke without further compromise. God demands clear, distinct separation. Our associations and companions must be made among God's saints. Failure to maintain this separation will be a snare to us and to our children. If we raise our children in the arms of the world we need not be surprised when they choose to marry those who despise our God!
